Ingredients
1 Large artichoke
2 Lemons
Mushroom Garumย (optional)
Olive Oil orย Cep Oilย (optional)
Vegan XO Sauce
Salt and pepper, to taste
Method
- Placeย theย whole artichoke inย a pot withย waterย to cover,ย saltย andย 1ย lemon cutย intoย slices.ย Simmer untilย tender,ย time will varyย depending on the size of the artichoke.
- When tender, removeย the artichokeย from the water and let it cool down for a few minutes.ย When cool, start removing theย leaves,ย discarding the outermost ones untilย you get to the ones with white artichoke flesh on them.ย Spread these leavesย out on a plate andย dress withย a splash ofย lemon juice, salt, pepper, oliveย oilย orย Cepย Oil, Smoked Mushroom Garum (if you haveย it) andย finish it offย with aย few spoonsย ofย Vegan XOย Sauce.ย Or,ย simplyย serveย withย Vegan XOย Sauceย on the side as a dip forย theย artichoke leaves.ย ย
