Østerberg Ice Cream is an artisanal ice cream company founded by Cathrine Østerberg. Combining craftsmanship with a deep understanding of ice cream structure and texture, Østerberg creates innovative flavors and exceptional ice cream experiences through its shops and events.

On Fridays and Saturdays only between August 7th – 22nd, Østerberg will feature an off-menu option for Taste Buds at their ice cream shops across the city.

Located on Copenhagen’s waterfront, Den Vandrette is a relaxed wine bar and restaurant known for its seasonal small plates, natural wines, and views across the harbor. 

From August 5th–23rd, Taste Buds will have exclusive access to a small selection of off-menu dishes created especially for the occasion.

Unfortunately, our friends at Balderdash have gotten stuck in delayed renovations. They hope to open by August 12th, however we can't be certain given the nature of the unfolding situation.

Tucked away in central Copenhagen, Balderdash is an award-winning cocktail bar known for its playful approach to mixology, creative ingredients, and expertly crafted drinks.

Taste Buds will have exclusive access to an off-menu cocktail created especially for the occasion.

Spend a summer afternoon enjoying a simple lunch curated by Hart Bakery, one of Copenhagen's most celebrated bakeries. Founded by Richard Hart and known for its exceptional breads, pastries, and dedication to craftsmanship, Hart has become a beloved destination for both locals and visitors seeking some of the city's finest baked goods. 

Exclusively for Taste Buds members, Hart is offering a pre-order takeaway lunch designed for two guests to enjoy outside, between August 5th – 23rd.  

Cost: DKK 330 for two people, to be paid on pick-up 

Orders must be placed via email to info@hartbageri.com at least 48 hours in advance, noting “Taste Buds Takeaway” in the subject line.

Within the email, please include the following info:   

• Desired pick-up time 
• Hart location for pick-up (Holmen or Refshaleøen)
• Selection of desired sandwich and drink option (see below)
• Note: if you’d prefer to order just for one person, contents and pricing will be adjusted accordingly

You lunch will include:

• Your choice of 2 sandwiches: Smoked salmon, tomato, or salami focaccia.
• Your choice of beverage: Non-alcoholic (two kombuchas or sodas) or alcoholic (two beers or a bottle of wine, opened and ready to enjoy)
• Two freshly baked cookies  
• Two waters  
• Two cups and napkins

Your lunch will be thoughtfully packed and ready to take with you, making it the perfect companion for a day in the park, by the water, or wherever your Copenhagen adventure leads.

Christianshavns Grocer is a gourmet delicatessen featuring local and seasonal provisions, fresh produce, cheese, charcuterie, wine, and organic prepped goods. Owned and operated by Noma Projects alum, Christian Helbo Hansen.

August 20th

Join renowned glass artist Nina Nørgaard and her husband, Joachim Hjerl, for a special afternoon celebrating Danish craftsmanship, wine, and design.

Guests will be welcomed to an intimate experience in Nina’s and Joachim’s private home, studio, and vineyard set in beautiful UNESCO-protected surroundings, an hour’s drive outside of Copenhagen. The event includes a tasting of Danish wines paired with light snacks served in Nina’s glassware, a guided tour of the vineyard, and a lecture exploring Nina’s artistic journey and the history behind her celebrated glass designs.

There are lots of great rental options in the city, and we recommend renting your bike for a full day (or more). That way, you don’t have to worry about returning it quickly or finding specific drop-off points—it gives you more freedom to explore.

Popular bike rental options:

• Donkey Republic (app-based, flexible pickup and return)
• Bycyklen / City Bike (electric bikes with tablet screens, also app-based)
• Lime (e-bikes and scooters, app-based)

• Use the bike lanes – Copenhagen has amazing, dedicated bike lanes. Stick to them whenever you can.
• Signal clearly – Use hand signals: left arm out to go left, right arm to go right, and hand up to stop. It helps everyone stay safe and flow smoothly.
• Follow bike lights – Many intersections have traffic lights just for bikes—keep an eye out and go with the flow.
• Turning left? It’s a two-step process – In Copenhagen, you don’t turn left directly. Instead, cross the intersection straight ahead, stop and wait at the corner, then cross again when the light changes. It’s called a “Copenhagen left.”
• Avoid using your phone while biking – It’s both illegal and not-so-safe. Best to pull over if you need to check your map.
• Lock your bike properly – Always lock through the frame and secure it to something solid. Bike theft does happen here.
• Stay off the sidewalks – These are for pedestrians unless clearly marked as shared paths.
• Watch for cars turning right – They’re supposed to yield to you, but it’s still smart to make eye contact and stay alert.
• Bike lanes are usually one-way – Ride in the direction of traffic unless signs say otherwise.
